Centennial Girls Win 9th Straight 4A Title, Bishop Gorman Boys Repeat At 4A Championships

Bishop Gorman had impressive performances from Kyu Kelly (3rd in 100 10.66 (1.0)/ 2nd in 200 21.58 (.8)/ 1st in LJ 24-02.50w (+2.2), Rome Odunze (4th 100 10.67/1st in 200 21.25). Those 2 teamed with Ammonte Beverly and Antonio Sanchez in winning the 4x100 (41.36). Freshman Zion Branch placed 3rd in the 110 Hurdles, 14.40 (1.8) and 2nd in the Triple Jump 46.06.75 (.9)

Liberty’s Corey Moore, Jr won the Shot and Discus (55-04.75/189-02)

Desert Oasis’ Connor Nicholas won the 1600 and 3200 (4:24.99/9:41.37)

Palo Verde wheelchair athlete, Ben Slighting won the 400/800/1600/3200 (1:02.58, 2:03.16, 4:10.74,8:28.09)

 

4A Girls

Centennial had wins from Quincy Bonds in the 100H/300H (14.25, 43,71); Ashley Moore in the LJ/TJ (18-10.75, 40-05.75; (Kennedy Brace in the 400 (54.82); and the 4x100/4x200/4x400 (46.84, 1:41.09, 3:55.86).

Rancho senior Amir’a Edmonds set an All Time Nevada Best in winning the 100m (11.68 w1.7). She also won the 200m in 24.43 w-1.7

Carson’s Abigail Pradere won the 800-1600 (2:12.50/5:01.27)

Liberty’s Aaliyah Soa won the Shot Put and Discus (44-05.75/144-08)

Silverado sophomore Grace Cunningham defended her High Jump championship clearing 5-07.00.

 

3A Boys

Mojave won the team title with 133 points. 

Mojave senior won the 100 and 200.  His 100m time of 10.55 bettered the 3A State Record time but missed the record due to a +2.1 wind. His 200m time of 21.87 set the 3A Record with a legal wind of +1.6.  The Rattlers also had a double winner with Devinn Houston in the Long Jump and Triple Jump (21-03.50 w-0.4 / 45-04.00 w-0.5)

Valley’s junior, Christian Franklin, dominated the distance races winning the 800-1600-3200 (1:55.88,4:25.72, 9:34.36)

Sparks junior Justice Rice-Misa won the Shot Put and Discus (45-10.50/151-10)

 

3A Girls

Spring Creek won the team championship with 137 points.

Spring Creek senior Jessica Dorohov placed 2nd in the 100/200 (12.45/25.78) and freshman Paige Walz won the 100H (15.19). The Spartans also wins in the High Jump with Kylee Dimick (5-02.00) and the 4x200 Relay (1:45.54)

South Tahoe junior Carissa Buchholz won the 800-1600-3200 (2:19.21/5:09.34/11:32.99)

Del Sol junior Charleyanse Howard won the 100-200-Triple Jump (12.34/25.69/36-04.00)

Sunrise Mountain senior Kapua Pulotu won the Shot Put and Discus (37-05.75/135-07)

 

2A Boys

White Pine won the team championship with 117.5 points.

The Bobcats only win came from Adam Theurer in the 110 Hurdles (15.98).

Lincoln County senior Noah Smith won the 100-200-400 (11.01/22.29/51.01)

Incline sophomore Niklas Pietzke won the 1600/3200 (4:34.61/9:57.94)

Calvary Chapel won the 4x100 and 4x200 (44.81/1:34.09)

North Tahoe won the 4x400/4x800 (3:35.23/8:36.05)

 

2A Girls

White Pine won the team championship with 206 points.

Bobcat senior Madison Rick won the 100/200 (13.04/27.42) and placed 2nd in the Long Jump (15-08.25). 

North Tahoe senior AJ Hurt won the 300 Hurdles, Long Jump and Triple Jump (48.75/16-01.75/33-09.25) and placed 2nd in the 100 Hurdles (16.94).

North Tahoe senior Josii Johnson won the 800 and 1600 (2:28.85/5:37.05).

In Class 1A, junior Kakari Tucker of Spring Mountain won the 110 hurdles and triple jump (16.08/41-07), senior teammate Makai Michael won the pole vault (10-6), and the 4x100 relay won in 46.58 on the way to the team title. 

Tonopah senior Brandon Scobee won the 100 (11.40) and 400 (53.42).

Beatty junior Jose Granados won the 800 and 1600 (2:00.62/4:29.08).

Sierra Luther senior Jared Marchegger won the 3,200 (9:43.59) and anchored the winning 4x400 and 4x800 relays (3:44.63/8:46.39).

Eureka senior Tristin Birchim won the shot put and discus (42-8.25/130-0).

The Eureka Vandals got wins from senior Angelika Townsend in the 800 (2:31.90), Louisa Terhalle in the 300 hurdles (52.25), freshman Isabella Minoletti in the long jump (15-5) senior Alia Minoletti in the shot put (30-11) and sophomore Ilyhia Greely in the discus (100-5).

Whittell junior Kyla Rippett won the 100 and 200 (13.23/27.28) and her team swept all four relays (52.74/1:52.48/4:49.29/11:46.17).

Sierra Luther senior Emily McNeely won the 1,600 and 3,200 (5:31.32/12:02.20).

Class 4A - Bishop Gorman 99 points, Centennial 126 points RESULTS

Class 3A - Mojave boys 133 points, Spring Creek girls 137 points

Class 2A - White Pine boys 117.5 points, White Pine girls 206 points

Class 1A - Spring Mountain boys 170 points, Eureka girls 117 points
